Well I’m a little behind this week. I have been tied up doing an assignment for my other unit. But i have finally got back to Web101. Watched 2 lectures yesterday, the Wikis lecture and social networks lecture. I really enjoyed both, i thought there was a lot of interesting ideas about Wikipedia and how it has become a source that a lot of people use to find information. Below is just a little bit of info that i found interesting. Bye for now.
What are Wikis?
Wikis are web applications which enable multiple authors to add, remove, and edit content in a process of collaborative authoring - usually through WYSIWYG controls that resemble those of a word processor or blog.

So is the Wikipedia ever a useful source?
Yes: for popular culture information, such as entries for television shows, movies, or music.

I liked this YouTube Video: Wikis in University Teaching and Learning - Richard Buckland UNSW.
